According to Pope Gelasius

George was among the saints

Whose names are rightly

Reverenced among men

But whose actions

Are known only to God

 

His feast day is April 23rd

MY LOVE ASSENDED

 

My love ascended

To our Father’s care

Silently rising

On heavens stair

Sent on her way by

My whispered prayer

THE SNOWMAN AND HIS WIFE

 

The snowman and his wife,

To make the baby smile,

Put over the child’s crib

A beautiful snowmobile!

SENT FROM THE HEAVENS ABOVE

Sent from the heavens above

An unseen arbiter of love

To help the lovers choose

And with introductions done

The angel ascends

GLAD SATURDAY

 

Glad Saturday

Better known as

Holy Saturday

Is not a Mass

But a time of

Prayer and fasting

And meditating on Christ’s

Passion and Death

His Descent into Hell

And his Resurrection

And thank God reverently

For our saviour’s sacrifice

The Long Friday

Or Good Friday

Marks the day

The Temple Guards

Aided by the Judas kiss

Arrested Jesus

At Gethsemane

Also his interrogation

By High Priest Caiaphas

And the Sanhedrin

Who condemned him to death

Before conveying him before

The Roman governor

Pontius Pilate

Who with reluctance

Ordered his crucifixion

At the place of the Skull
