Faith is a very simple thing
Between
you and your God King
Don’t let
the legion of Clergy
Over
complicate by liturgy
The church
do not own our Deity
God is
inherent in the laity
Faith is a very simple thing

God’s eternal light
Illuminates the
starkness
Dispelling evil
"Come forth and you will receive
Eternal life" The Lord
said
But unfortunately, John came
fifth
As a result, he won a TV
instead
Kneeling before the cross,
A simple sign of faith
A potent symbol of his
love
A symbol whose holy
shadow
Casts the light of
love across the world
I am in the presence
of the Lord
I feel His hand on my
shoulder
His love in my heart
I find I am at peace
In the presence of the
lord
I feel His reassuring
presence
The Son of God
The Prince of Peace
Who died upon the
cross
Who died on a hill in
Calvary
And was born again
I feel the power of
His glory
I feel at peace
I feel his Godliness
His Goodliness
He surrounds me with
his love
And he comforts me
Making the world a
less savage place
The Lord is Shepherd of his flock
As well as being a
fisher of men
And he does his
Fathers bidding
On the fields and
copse and fen
Archangel Michael
Lucifer’s nemesis
Angelic warrior
In the war in heaven
Protector against
The dark of night
Feast of the Archangels
As the autumn equinox nears
Michaelmas marks the
turning
Of the husbandman's
year
He stood in the cold crisp night
Beneath the moon and
the stars
And looked at the
majestic vista
Imagining such a
perfect night sky
Two thousand years
before
Be at peace with life
Live in the light
For although they
Are out of sight
We are in safe hands
Both day and night
As they
walk among us
The Angels of the
light
Hell does not have to be
A fiery pit of
brimstone
Hell is merely
The absence of God
Candle of His light
Cast your goodness
In your steady glow
Across the sinful
world
And bath us in love
Holy unmercenaries
Is an epithet applying
to
Christian saints,
Who did not accept
Payment of any kind
For good deeds done
Which is I think the
very least
One should expect from
a saint
One of the twelve
Matthew the Apostle
Born in Galilee
Was a former publican
Turned tax collector
From Capernaum
Before answering the
call
Witness of the
ascension
Witness of the
resurrection
One of the four
Evangelists.
Who then spread the
Gospels
Far and wide
Was killed with a
spear
In the city of Nadabah
In Ethiopia
Feast Day 21st
September
I am in the soothing warmth
Of a gentle spring day
I am in the sunlight
Glinting on the
morning dew
I am in the summer
breeze
Stirring a field of
ripened corn
I am in the aromatic
air
Of a sultry summer
night
I am in the autumn
wind
Stripping bare the
trees
I am the howling
tempest
In the teeth of a gale
I am in the bitter
sting
Of icy rain and sleet
I am in the silence
Of the softly falling
snow
I am the eerie quiet
In the concealing
mists
I am the storm and
tempest
I am the peace and
quiet
I am the green man
I am the green goddess
I am the mother
You will find in any holy place
Every up turned face
Of the congregation
there
With the power of
prayer
Can achieve both great
and small
With faith and prayer
is all
A fellowship on their
knees
A family of Gods devotees
Under the blue and sunny sky
I open my heart and
sing
In praise to the
heavenly father
For the beauty of the
morning
And raise up my hands
in worship
Of my one true God and
King
The breeze on my face was still warm
Though the sun was setting
With the horizon a kaleidoscope of colour,
There would be more rain before morning.
And the thunder would return.
The grass was still wet underfoot
And the air was heavy with that earthy
Just rained on fragrance
Overhead through the leafy canopy
Was the quiet whispering of the breeze
Followed by a hail of displaced raindrops
And I smiled to myself and thanked God
That I should live in such a place
My Lord Jesus Christ is with me
He has been my
lifelong friend
And when he walks
beside you
On the saviour you can
depend
Jesus was there at my
beginning
And He will be there
at my end
You will find comfort
In His Holy Word
It is still relevant
today
The Bible isn’t absurd
You will find no
better
In any modern tome
Read His word abroad
Read His word at home
Trust in Him each day
He is dependable
always
Trust Him to guide you
He will always be with
you
Keep Him in your heart
You are never far
apart
Pray in the bad times
Praise in the good
times
Trust in Him each day
He is dependable
always
I pray for peace around the world
Each day
on bended knee
So why
does such a prayer of peace
Go
unanswered, answer me
Its not
that God doesn’t hear the prayer
He wants
the same you see
God prays
for peace around the world
Each day
on bended knee
But his
prayers remain unanswered
For
mankind is deafened to his plea
Christ the redeemer
He died on the cross
He died to save us
And His majesty
Made of the world
A place of hope
A place of grace
A place of freedom
A place of love
He called us from the
darkness
Into His loving light
God is in my fingers
When I play guitar
God is in my footsteps
When I must travel far
God is in my lips
When I whistle a tune
God is in my voice
When I sing or croon
God is my protector
When my goal is
reached
God is in my heart
When his word is
preached
God is my salvation
In every single way
God is in my heart
Every single day
Oh God in heaven
I thank you
For your son
For supporting me
Embracing me
Accepting me
For offering me your
hand
Your loving hand
We sing oh Lord
To praise you
For you support us
Embrace us
Accept us
You offer us your hand
Your loving hand
We give ourselves oh
Lord
Into your love
Sing in praise
To God on high
Accept Him
Into your heart
Sing in praise
To God our Lord
Accept His
Great gift of love
Sing in praise
To God on high
Accept Him
Into your life
Sing in praise
To God our Lord
Accept Him
As your saviour
One thing you’ll never hear,
And there is
absolutely no chance
Of anyone hearing a
Hindu say
Oh well, you only live
once
I believe in God
I believe him to be the creator
The creator of heaven and earth
Of the stars and the planets
I believe him to be the creator of the
universe
The scientific community
Talk of the big bang
Which sparked off the creation of the
universe
They call God a myth
And his creation a myth
Science of course call it the big bang theory
Theory being science speak for a guess
Or put another way a belief
They can no more prove their belief
Than I can prove the existence of God
For all their contempt for belief systems
They are locked in one of their own making
I have faith in the creation
But if there was a big bang
Then God pressed the button
When I was a boy I prayed to god
For a new bike for me
Than I realized that god
Doesn’t work like that you see
So I stole one instead
And asked him to forgive me
One day many years in the past
A young monk arrived at a monastery.
To assist other monks with the canon and laws
By making hand written copies
But he notices very quickly
That all of us are copying from copies,
And not from the original texts
So he goes to the Abbott with a query
He tells the Abbott of his concern
That any error in the first copy
No matter how small it may be
Would be duplicated in each subsequent copy
The abbot says to the boy
"We have been doing it for centuries
Copying from the copies
But you have a good point, sonny."
The abbot goes down to the dark caves
To the archives beneath the monastery
where the original manuscripts are held
Kept locked in a vault for safety
Hours go by and nobody sees the abbot
he misses his meals and prayers
The young monk gets worried
And goes to look for him downstairs
He finds him banging his head on a wall
Wailing, "We missed the “R”
His forehead is bloody and bruised
And the boy thinks that will lave a scar
The young monk asks the abbot,
"What's wrong?" why do you create
Crying the Abbott replies,
"The word was Celebrate!!!”
Yes I believe in God
I believe in God
the father of all
I believe in the
Ten Commandments
God handed to Moses
A better set of
rules to live your life by
Does not exist
I’m not comfortable
calling myself a Christian however
I was baptized a Christian
And raised as one
And I attend a
Christian church
But I'm not a true
Christian
I don’t turn the
other cheek
Who is there?
In my darkest hours
When pain wracks my body
When dark thoughts plague me
Who is it who sustains me?
Who is there?
At times of anguish
When I feel so alone
When I feel all hope is gone
Who lifts me and guides me
Who is there?
In the depths of my despair
When I see no end
When I seek release
Who is it?
Who will take my pain
He is there
When the pain ends
When darkness is banished
In the light of love
My lord god will keep me
